Born & raised in the Netherland, my passion for wildlife photography was first awakened while studying in South Africa. This will probably not come as too much a surprise to anyone, as SA is teeming with national parks and large mamals. A small camera and "point & shoot" was enough to get some impressive photo`s. Little did I know that when my work brought me to Northampton, my skills would really develop here in the middle of England ! It was pure chance I met some birders in Summerleys and started chatting to Richard Bedford. It quickly became clear to me that England is a fantastic place for bird photographers, and after a few more trips to summerleys I was also convinced I needed to upgrade my gear.
It seems that Summerleys has been the birthplace of many a photographer over the last few years and this has worked created a network of people supporting each other and giving all-important tips. As a result, my photos have evolved from the gray record - shots to more colourfull images. My aim is to get photos that picture animals in their surrounding, creating color and shape. I like to discover beauty in the nature that surrounds us as it reminds me that there is more to this planet then our man-made world! Maybe this is just escapism, but it works for me!
Next year will see us move to South Africa. naturally I will continue my photography and hopefully improve further. Our first plan is to explore the Northern Cape and Namibia, which both have fascinating wildlife, so watch this site for updates!
